Postdoc - Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy

The Department of Psychiatry, Psychosomatics and Psychotherapy is part of the Center for Mental Health at Universitätsmedizin FRankfurt. With nine wards, two day clinics and a large outpatient clinic, we are responsible for the treatment of all types of mental illness in adulthood. 
For the research group “Neurometabolic Circuits” we are looking for a dedicated Postdoc as of 01.02.2024. We investigate the interaction between brain and body in psychiatric disorders. To gain a deeper understanding of the influence of peripheral metabolism on mood states and behavior, we use MRI imaging, behavioral assessment, metabolic profiling and inflammatory profiling.

Your role

  • Data collection (MRI measurements, computer-based examinations, patient interviews, processing of biosamples)
  • Data analysis (analysis of MRI data, behavioral data and biosamples, big data)
  • Preparation of manuscripts
  • Presentations of the work at national and international congresses

Who you are

  • You have a completed doctorate in the field of medicine, neuroscience, biology, bioinformatics, psychology or related disciplines.
  • You have experience in brain imaging (functional and structural MRI) and/or in working with large amounts of data
  • You have a strong interest in translational research and the biological basis of neuropsychiatric symptoms
  • You have extensive knowledge in the field of data management and data analysis
  • You have a good command of written and spoken English 
  • Due to legal regulations, valid proof of measles immunity / measles vaccination is required.
