...you're in the middle of it
The project is a close collaboration between Goethe University and the Fraunhofer Institute of Translational Medicine and Pharmacology (ITMP) in Frankfurt and Hamburg. The position will be based in Frankfurt am Main, at the Institute of Clinical Pharmacology, Goethe University. The position is limited to 2 years. Appointment, remuneration, and social benefits are based on the public-sector collective agreement (TV-G-U).
We invite applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in the field of assay development, drug discovery, and characterization within the Cluster4Future PROXIDRUGS (https://proxidrugs.de/en) project ProxiDETECT.
The Cluster4Future PROXIDRUGS aims to develop innovative therapies for human diseases by targeted degradation of disease-relevant proteins within cells. The cluster pools the expertise of several local universities, scientific institutes, and major pharmaceutical companies. Within PROXIDRUGS, the ProxiDETECT project develops advanced assay technologies and imaging solutions for the identification, biophysical and phenotypic characterization of molecular glues and novel ubiquitin E3 ligase binders. For this position, we are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious candidate with a PhD in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field, with experience in assay development and cell biology.
Responsibilities include
- Protein production (cloning, expression in various systems, purification, quality control)
- Development and application of biophysical/binding assays using different techniques (thermal shift, surface plasmon resonance, biolayer interferometry, spectral shift, ligand displacement)
- Assay miniaturization and automation
- Screening of medium-sized small-molecule compound libraries
- Analysis of results in close collaboration with data scientists, bioinformaticians, and chemoinformaticians
